ABOUT US

XVIII. International Film Festival “Won Together” will take place in Sochi November 4–9, 2023. Festival screenings and events will also be run in other cities of Russia during the year.

We are glad to announce our XVIIIth edition of our Festival and invite you to take part in it. Since its foundation in 2005, the Festival has turned from a small and local into a notable international event, year by year attracting more filmmakers and significantly widening its geography.

Currently, despite temporary international density and all possible contextual limitations, we are doing our best to keep an exceptional level and a variety of international competition. We are grateful to all our colleagues for keeping strong and staying with us through these difficult times. We strongly believe in the role of art and cinema, and truly hope that no political factors may influence international culture and art on no account.

The Festival is held by EATR /Eurasian Academy of TV&Radio/ and Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly and run with the support of culture foundations, official institutions and independent partners.

FOCUS

The Festival has very deep historical roots. One part of its program “Memory” is traditionally devoted to historical films, another one “Reflection” zooms in contemporary subjects and trends of modern society.

We are very keen to explore various live issues throughout the world today, such as people’s worries, their problems, feats, good deeds and the ways people choose while facing challenges or in reaching their goals. That is especially interesting as a comparison in time perspective – people and customs, issues and values of generations – then and now – differences and commons. Furthermore, we will always appreciate stories on culture, sport, achievements, overcoming, environment, and other relevant topics.

We welcome everybody who shares our interest in these issues. We encourage you to take part in the Festival and become our good friend and a member of our international society.

OUR PURPOSE

Won Together serves to support international professional cooperation in cinema and television. It is meant to be a platform for developing and upkeeping working contacts in the film industry, and acts for the benefit of Documentary and TV film art.

OUR HISTORY

Won Together was initially founded by Sevastopol veterans in memory of common international exploit in World War II.

Throughout its history (18 years), it has performed a huge number of films on historical, analytical, cultural and current issues, connected many professionals from all over the world, and finally took its place among the biggest contemporary cinema events.

Even though a part of the Festival program is traditionally devoted to historical events, the other segment keeps a focus on today’s life, on people having tasks to perform and problems to solve, on those who tend to make life beautiful – as they understand it, as they can do it despite all challenges and obstacles, no matter how hard the circumstances are.
